WHEEL ALIGNMENT SPECIALISTS ARE READY TO HELP

Wheel Alignment / Tracking

Wheel alignment refers to the adjustment of a vehicle’s suspension – the system that connects a vehicle to its wheels. Proper alignment ensures that all wheels are pointed in the same direction and are perpendicular to the ground. This is important for several reasons, including improving handling, extending tire life, and ensuring that a vehicle travels in a straight line.

YOUR WHEEL ALIGNMENT QUESTIONS ANSWERED

Q: What is Wheel alignment?

A: Wheel alignment is an important aspect of vehicle maintenance, as it ensures that all wheels are pointed in the same direction and are perpendicular to the ground.

Q: Which type of wheel alignment should I get?

A: Different vehicle makes and models may require different types of wheel alignment. There are three main types of wheel alignment: Toe, Camber, and Caster.

Q: Why is wheel alignment important?

A: Wheel Alignment is important for several reasons, including improving handling, extending tire life, and ensuring that a vehicle travels in a straight line.

Q: What is a Camber Aligment?

A: Camber refers to the angle at which the wheels are tilted inwards or outwards, as viewed from the front of the vehicle. If the top of the wheel is tilted outwards, the alignment is “positive camber,” and if it’s tilted inwards, the alignment is “negative camber.” Camber alignment is important because it affects the way the tires make contact with the road. Incorrect camber alignment can cause uneven tire wear, and can make the vehicle pull to one side or the other, especially when cornering.

Q: What is Toe Alignment in a vehicle?

A: Toe alignment refers to the angle at which the tires are turned inward or outward, as viewed from above. If the front of the tires point towards each other (toe-in) or away from each other (toe-out), it affects tire wear and vehicle handling. Proper toe alignment ensures that the tires roll parallel to each other, which improves vehicle stability and prevents uneven tire wear.

Q: What is a Caster Aligment?

A: Caster is the angle of the steering axis in relation to the vertical plane. The steering axis is an imaginary line that runs through the center of the upper and lower steering pivot points. If the steering axis tilts towards the rear of the vehicle, the alignment is “positive caster,” and if it tilts towards the front, the alignment is “negative caster.” Caster alignment primarily affects steering stability and directional control.
